Planting Churches

A. Gather Christians and evangelise

This phase consists in gathering existing Christians in houses and make them stronger in God’s Word, teaching First Principles¹ (ITEA/BILD).

There would also be direct evangelising (classical ; flyers, events, etc.) and indirect (friendship, involvement in charities, etc.) to have new converts grounded in the First Principles¹.

This phase will also allow the discernment of future leaders (elders, deacons, Gospel ministers), and those who are/will be able to teach the First Principles¹.

B. Train leaders

Tailored teaching will be offered to those in whom a potential will be discerned.

• Deacons : ITEA/BILD First Principles series 3, and on.
• Elders and Gospel Ministers (pastors, évangelists, etc.) : ITEA/BILD Leaders series.

Let us bear in mind that the advantage of ITEA/BILD teaching is to be taught while ministering in your local Church.

At least one elder (already in post, or in training) in each house group.

Moreover, if the Leadership structure allows it, the plan is to multiply house groups, while ensuring that one elder (in post or in training) looks after believers and is there for edifying them.

Warning

Even though main meetings will take place in houses, this has nothing to do with the Emerging Church movement. Indeed, what we are talking about is:

• A Church gathering in houses
• A structured church, with leaders (elders, deacons) rooted and trained in God’s Word, with the purpose of:
  • Establishing, strenghtening and multiplying disciples
  • Discerning , training and sending new leaders
  • Spreading the Church’s influence through multiplying places of worship (houses)

The Evangelical South-Vendean Church presented here would remain a member of the AEEI and be under its spiritual authority.
